Pen and Hannah
Humble and Lovable duo, Pen and Hannah, work hard to keep the Nowzad Clinic running, supplying training for future veterinarians, operating outreach programs for children in refugee camps, while rescuing and rehabilitating dogs. It is hoped that the series Battle Dogs will attract attention to the animals that need homes and that viewers feel compelled to participate in helping to improve the lives of the animals. Pen and Hannah are excited to having the Nowzad journey told in a weekly television series.
Producer Jack Lenz knew he had to make a show about Pen Farthing and his Nowzad Clinic in Afghanistan. He was overwhelmed with the generosity and caring shown by Pen and his girlfriend Hannah as two people who risk their lives each day to serve the needs of animals at risk on the streets of Kabul. More compelling was that Hannah and Pen also work to reunite the Afghan pets of soldiers, who serve during Afghan struggles, back to the soldiers after the they have returned home. Pen and Hannah have successfully reunited over a thousand pets with their soldier “dads and moms”. Jack is inspired to show the stories about the Nowzad clinic, Pen and Hannah and rest of the wonderful Nowzad team members.
